The Best Splatoon 3 Team and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Racer in Australia and New Zealand are being sought after by Nintendo Australia.

The Splatoon 3 AU/NZ Championship 2023 and the Mario Kart AU/NZ Championship, which will culminate in a live Australian and New Zealand final at PAX Australia 2023, will provide players of Splatoon 3 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe from Australia and New Zealand the chance to fight for prizes and glory.

For each championship, Nintendo Australia will hold a series of online qualifying events beginning in August. The best teams and players will emerge from these open qualifications to compete in the finals on Sunday, October 8, 2023, at PAX Australia. Players of all skill levels are welcome, and there are numerous methods to play and take part. The Nintendo Australia website has further information on these thrilling events.

Turf War and Anarchy Battle modes will determine the newest Splatoon 3 teams for Australia and New Zealand. These intense four-on-four matches call for effective collaboration and deft tactics. Turf War best-of-three single elimination bracket matches between registered teams will take place, with Turf War and Anarchy Battle quarter and semifinal matches taking place in best-of-five single elimination. Each qualifier's winning team will receive an invitation to the Live Grand Final, which will take place at PAX Australia on Sunday, October 8, 2023.

The top two racers from each qualifier (a total of 12) will advance to the Live Finals at PAX Australia on Sunday, October 8, 2023, where the Australian and New Zealand Mario Kart 8 Deluxe champions will be crowned. Racers will compete in 150cc Race Mode with normal items on a variety of courses, earning points.

The schedule for the Splatoon 3 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe AU/NZ Championships 2023 online qualifying tournaments is provided below. Both competitions will hold qualifying rounds in August and September, giving players and teams several chances to advance to the PAX Australia 2023 finals.

The Nintendo Switch console presently has Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Splatoon 3. With a Nintendo Switch Online membership, players may access online play in both of these games and begin practising if they are interested in competing in the tournaments. Non-members can access a free seven-day trial directly through the Nintendo Switch console.

The exciting finals of the Splatoon 3 AU/NZ or Mario Kart AU/NZ Championships 2023 will take place at PAX Australia in October 2023. Compete to be the champion of Australia and New Zealand.

About the RoleWe are looking for a Cyber Security Analyst to join our Intelligence and Response Team. The Intelligence and Response Team leads and coordinates intelligence and the NSW Government response to incidents across whole-of-government. The team combines both cyber security knowledge and processes with intelligence methodologies to monitor, analyse and report on the cyber threat landscape. The team works closely with internal and external stakeholders during incident response, triaging, monitoring and investigating cyber security incidents, providing advice and coordinating across affected groups.

In this role you will be supporting whole-of-government responses to cyber security issues and threats. You will provide expertise and analysis to deliver advice, intelligence and reporting on cyber security threats and incidents.

Your day-to-day key accountabilities:

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on cyber security threats and issues in order to monitor, detect, report and share information and intelligence on incidents, threats and trends to support informed decision making

  • Proactively monitor, identify, assess and alert agencies and executives to cyber security issues and threats

  • Analyse and assess cyber threats to government services, assets and information to determine attribution, motivation and capability

  • Provide expert support to NSW Government departments, agencies and councils during incident response, provide expertise and advice, and investigate potential cyber security incidents 

  • Identify stakeholder requirements and prioritise workload to meet agreed outcomes and timeframes.

About you:

  • An awareness of current trends in cyber security and IT security management

  • Knowledge, understanding of methodologies and frameworks, and demonstrated experience in one or multiple cyber security fields such as: intelligence, incident response, security operations

  • Skills or experience with tools and techniques used in intelligence, data analysis, digital forensics, and/or threat hunting are highly regarded

  • Relevant qualifications, certifications or studies in cyber security and/or intelligence are highly regarded

  •   Be willing to be on-call and work flexibility in response to cyber threats and incidents

  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills to explain technical concepts to different audiences, from executives and senior stakeholders to security teams

  • Demonstrate excellent problem solving skills and proactively manage your own workload and tasks.

Essential Requirements Australian citizenship with the successful applicant having, or being able to attain and maintain, a baseline security clearance or higher as a condition of employment
